
Wayne Smith is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Tech Systems, Inc. (TSi), bringing more than 30 years of experience in security operations, information technology, and organizational leadership. Wayne joined TSi in 2006 as Vice President and became President in 2015. He now steps into the combined role of President and CEO, where he oversees the company’s strategic direction, national operations, and long-term growth initiatives.
Throughout his tenure at TSi, Wayne has played a central role in strengthening the company’s service-first culture and expanding its national presence. He has championed operational excellence, supported the evolution of the F.O.C.U.S. service model, and helped drive the company’s progress in areas such as ISO certification, managed services, cybersecurity alignment, and the development of employee ownership. Wayne is known for a steady leadership approach that reflects integrity, accountability, and a strong commitment to TSi’s people-first philosophy.
Before joining TSi, Wayne spent more than thirteen years with Synovus Financial Corporation and Total System Services in Columbus, Georgia. His roles included Director of Information Security for Total System Services and Vice President of Facilities Technology for Synovus. In these positions, he led corporate security programs, oversaw physical and logical security integration, and supported enterprise risk management functions. His earlier experience includes serving as a Military Police Officer in the United States Army, with assignments across the United States and Asia, which shaped his disciplined leadership style and commitment to mission readiness.
Wayne holds multiple globally recognized security certifications, including CISSP and CISM, and has extensive experience in the design, implementation, and management of converged security programs. He earned a Bachelor’s degree from Columbus State University and an MBA from Kennesaw State University.
As President and CEO, Wayne is focused on sustaining TSi’s growth, strengthening customer relationships, and advancing the company’s capabilities in security technology and managed services.
